MFPA Launch Danny’s Dream Book at Kidzania
Many of the kids and their parents visiting the theatre at Kidzania in London on 24th October, were delighted to attend the launch of a new children’s book called Danny’s Dream. The book was the work of illustrator and mouth painter Ian Parker and author Victor Margiotta. The children experienced a short book reading from the author and then participated in an art session with a difference, run by foot painting artist Tom Yendell.
The audience consisting mainly kids, but some parents too, were invited onto the stage to join Tom and to have a go at trying to create an image for themselves, using only their foot to hold the colour pens. With shoes and socks cast all over stage, the kids launched themselves into producing drawings and writing their names without being able to use their hands.
The day was a great success and totally engrossing and inspiring for all who attended. The organizers at Kidzania said, “The parents commented on how enlightening and positive it was”. And the children left with big smiles on their faces and clutching their foot drawn images and colour pens.
The children’s book blogger, ‘It’s All About The Stories’ posted, “This is a lovely story for any time and the mouth painted illustrations are astounding”.
