Tom Yendell BBC Radio Interview
Hampshire based artist Tom Yendell needed to be ‘Up with the Larks’ to participate in an interview with BBC Radio that took place on 15th September 2020.
With a mug of strong coffee to help him cope with the crack of dawn start, Tom then featured on the Jason Rosam Show, the early breakfast show that is aired in all BBC Regions around the country.
During the interview, the host was keen to find out more about Tom and the MFPA and how the organization came to be formed by disabled artists over 60 years ago. The package also touched on the impact of the pandemic and on disabled people in particular (many of whom often lead quite isolated lives) and how the MFPA artists turned lockdown into a positive, by encouraging others to take up art, through a series of on-line painting tutorials.
We are pleased to report that Tom was able to have a much deserved ‘long lie-in’ the following day!
