Wings for Life World Run
Mouth painting artist Keith Jansz took part in the first ever Wings for Life World Run at Silverstone race track. The event which was staged simultaneously at 31 different venues across the world was designed to support the Red Bull sponsored spinal injury charity.
Keith who is an ambassador for the Wings for Life charity and the only wheelchair racer participating, made over a full circuit of the track (5.5 km) before being caught by the ‘catcher’ car. This was a stern test for Keith who is paralyzed from the shoulders down, since he normally gets around in a motorized wheelchair. Using the limited mobility he has in his arms, the artist managed to fulfil the arduous task of getting the manual wheelchair around as fast as possible. “ For me just to push on a flat surface with the physical ability I have got, is quite an achievement,” said Keith.
Even better, for his efforts, Keith raised £2,000 for the Wings for Life Charity.
